What are the social activities organized by Santiago Martin?


Working for society is the need of the hour for the development and advancement of our subcontinent. Stark differences between rich and poor, employed and unemployed, have divided the Indian population into different categories and resulted in the emergence of the "middle class".

To narrow down the widening gap between the rich and poor, and to provide an opportunity of livelihood to the poor, Mr. Santiago Martin, Founder, Martin Group of Companies, Chennai has constantly contributed towards uplifting the social state of the Indian subcontinent.

His social activities include food distribution programs, distribution of Covid-19 relief materials, helping out people from economically backward society, educating students and providing them with opportunities to shine out, and other CSR activities.

Santiago Martin also established the Martin Charitable Trust as a source of support for the needy and poor.

The programs organized by Martin Group of Companies, Chennai are as follows:

1. Food Distribution Programs: Martin Foundation held a food distribution program to feed the poor, homeless, and those who suffered the most during the Covid-19 pandemic. Through this outreach program, they managed to feed the people from the remotest of villages. The meal cooked was highly nutritious and included protein-rich food such as chicken, eggs, etc.

2. Donating Covid-19 Relief Materials: The ongoing pandemic has impacted many lives in Tamil Nadu, and with the second wave, things worsened. As a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, Martin Enterprises helped the people of Tamil Nadu during this difficult time

On behalf of The Martin Group, Martin Charitable Trust donated relief materials worth Rs. 3 crores to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. This included 100 oxygen concentrators, 400 oxygen cylinders, life-saving medicines, N95 masks, oximeters, and hand sanitizers. They also donated relief materials to government hospitals in Coimbatore.

3. Lending Support to Economically Backward Classes: Martin Lottery Agencies has time and again lent support to economically backward classes by donating money for their different treatments and surgeries.

4. Empowering and Educating School Children: The Martin Group in association with APJ Abdul Kalam Foundation and Space Foundation provided an opportunity to nearly 1000 government students in Chennai and surrounding villages to design 100 FEMTO Satellites.

The Martin Group pledges to continue working earnestly towards making the subcontinent a self-sustaining country and uplifting the status of the poor and helpless. Through their various programs, Martin Group promises to improve the lives of many people.
